D.V. Paluskar

D.V. Paluskar was only 10 when his father Vishnu Digambar Paluskar died. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar, an imporant musician from the Gwalior Gharana, is well known for his innovations in pedagogical practice and concert presentation. He was a pioneering muscian in bringing music out of the exclusive domain of the royal patronage system.

D.V. Paluskar received most of his training from Narayan Rao Vyas, Vinayak Rao Parwardhan and Paluskar cousin Chintamani Rao Paluskar. D.V. Paluskar had a clear, resilient voice well suited to his performances. Tragically he died at 34 having made an important impact during his life. An interesting reminisce about D.V. Paluskar by G.N. Joshi.
